Each night I keep her on my chest.
Her fragrant scent
I love the best.
When morning comes
Her song greets the day,
Often leaving me little to say.
Every chance I can
I sneak a kiss.
Her lips not long for my venture unmissed.
Her spirit shines for the world to see
I fool myself, it’s only for me.
How long will these tender moments last,
You see, it’s been years since I’ve seen
her last.
